Career highlights

• Lungisa joined the group in January 2018 as the Chief Executive Officer of SBSA, a role he held until August 2024.
• Since September 2024, he was the Regional Chief Executive for the group’s South and Central Region, until his appointment as interim Chief Executive Officer of African Regions and Offshore in April 2025.
• Prior to his appointment to the group, he had a 20-year career in public service, with his most recent role being director-general of the National Treasury where he was responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the successful execution of the legislative mandate of the National Treasury.
