Standard Lesotho Bank Announces the Appointment of New Executive

The Chairman and Board of Directors of Standard Lesotho Bank are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Samuel Seboka as the new Chief Executive of Standard Lesotho Bank, effective 1 January 2025.

Mr. Seboka, currently the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Lesotho Bank, brings over 15 years of extensive experience in the banking sector. An accomplished leader with expertise across various facets of banking, he has held several key positions throughout his career. He held various leadership roles in banking including being Head of Internal Audit and Chief Financial Officer at a competitor bank in the country. Within Standard Lesotho Bank, he served in the roles of Head of Internal Audit, Head of Channels and Distribution, Head of Transactional Products and Services, and most recently, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking.

Mr. Seboka has been instrumental in driving Standard Lesotho Bank’s growth, fostering collaboration across teams, and building enduring relationships with key clients and stakeholders. His leadership has significantly contributed to the Bank’s continued success and its strong position in the market.

A Chartered Accountant (CA(L)), accredited by the Lesotho Institute of Accountants and an ACCA affiliate, Mr. Seboka also holds a Diploma in Forensic Investigations from the University of Johannesburg. His unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership experience positions him to continue building on Standard Lesotho Bank’s legacy of innovation and excellence.

The Board extends its heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Anton Nicolaisen, who has served as the Chief Executive since January 2021 to date. Under his leadership, the Bank achieved significant milestones and solidified its role as a leader in Lesotho’s financial services industry.

The Board and Country Leadership Council (CLC), wish to express their unequivocal support to Mr. Seboka as he takes the reigns.
