The power of our employee-driven Corporate Social Investment initiatives
We believe in more than just numbers, we believe in people. That's why our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme is fuelled by the passion and dedication of our employees.
Our CSI initiatives aim to drive meaningful change in our communities, and the Employee Community Involvement (ECI) programme empowers our employees to contribute.
We provide opportunities for our staff to volunteer their time, share their skills and donate to causes they care about. Our initiatives include the following:
- Payroll Giving: Our employees are making a real difference through the Payroll Giving programme, which allows them to make monthly contributions to collectively support approved organisations working to uplift South African communities and drive social transformation.
- ForGood partnership: We've forged a strong partnership with ForGood, an innovative online platform that acts as a bridge, connecting our employees with a network of vetted and trusted non-profit organisations (NPO) across South Africa. This partnership provides a seamless and secure way for our employees to find opportunities that align with their passions and values. We believe in amplifying the impact of our employees' generosity, and through our Rand4Rand initiative, for every rand our employees donate, we match it 100%.
- National campaigns: Throughout the year, we organise and participate in a series of national campaigns that bring our employees together, united in a common purpose, to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our communities. From back-to-school drives, ensuring that underprivileged children have the resources they need to succeed in their education, and Literacy Day campaigns, promoting the importance of education and literacy for all, to Service Month initiatives, where we dedicate our time and skills to community projects, we're constantly seeking opportunities to make a positive impact.
Since launching our volunteering platform in South Africa in July 2020, we’ve seen the following results:
- 12 000 employees registered, demonstrating their eagerness to get involved and make a difference.
- Employees signed up for over 10 000 volunteering actions, actively participating in a wide range of initiatives and projects.
- Over R3 million was donated to organisations working on the front lines.
- Over 2 400 volunteering hours were dedicated to worthy causes.
We are incredibly proud of our employees and their dedication, passion and unwavering commitment to making a difference. That's why we launched the CSI Impact Awards to recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes who are going above and beyond to create lasting change in their communities. These awards highlight the inspiring stories of individuals who are making a tangible difference in the lives of others, serving as inspiration for us all.
We remain committed to creating a better future for Africa, one act of kindness, one volunteer hour and one donation at a time.
