Standard Bank and Jozi My Jozi partner to drive Joburg inner city clean-up

Standard Bank and Jozi My Jozi have announced a partnership to drive the clean-up of the inner-city of Johannesburg.

Jozi My Jozi is a non-profit organisation founded by a coalition of business, civil society organisations and public sector stakeholders who want to see a revitalisation of the inner-city.

The purpose of Jozi My Jozi is to connect every person who wants to make a difference, from private to public sector and the everyday people of Jozi, in order to inspire sustainable solutions for the inner city and creating a snowball of positive change that spreads across South Africa.

For the month of November, Jozi My Jozi and Standard Bank Group volunteers will be hitting the streets of Jozi as part of a four-week city clean-up project. The aim of the clean-up initiative is to help create a city that we can all be proud of through collaborations and united actions that can hopefully become a catalyst for change for our city centre.

Over the years, the inner-city has become less than what it used to be for residents, visitors, and commuters alike. Recent events impacting the area have served to highlight the need for more support and investment in the city, to take it back to its original status, as a world class leading African city.
