Add or remove international banking services
You can easily open or close international accounts you hold with Standard Bank by using our online banking portal.
Request to open a new account
Contact our Personal Banking Team to arrange this or use Secure Messaging to do so
- Sign in to Online Banking using your sign in credentials
- From the home screen, click on menu button at the top left side of the screen
- Click on the ‘Help & Services’ option
- Select ‘Manage your accounts’, and then ‘Open an account’
- Choose the type of account you want to open
- If you agree to the T&Cs you will be able to select additional currencies linked to the same account in
- Select ‘Send’ to confirm the request
Close an account
- Sign in to Online Banking using your sign in credentials
- From the home screen, click on menu button at the top left side of the screen
- Click on the ‘Help & Services’ option
- Select ‘Manage your accounts’, and then ‘Close an account’
- Enter the account number and select ‘Send’
You cannot close an account if it still contains funds, or if it’s overdrawn.
To close a notice account, an account with funds or fixed term deposit account, please contact the Personal Banking Team.
Add a joint party
- Download and complete this personal account application form
- Supply the supporting documentation
- You will receive the new account details via email
- You will need to re-register for Online Banking using your new customer number
