Standard Bank’s International Fiduciary Services doubles down on South Africa

Standard Bank has welcomed Nitrisha Doorasamy to the International Fiduciary Services Team, focusing on growing its offering in the South African market. A former 35 under 35, Nitrisha brings a wealth of experience in international trusts and offshore wealth planning structures.

Nitrisha joins Standard Bank from one of the world’s largest law firms where she was a senior associate in their Guernsey office. With previous experience working for an institutional trust company in South Africa, Nitrisha recently moved back to her home country and is now focusing her fiduciary expertise on growing Standard Bank’s international trust services throughout the country.

A South African qualified lawyer, Nitrisha’s career has been marked by multiple industry awards and recognitions, including Legal500 and ePrivateclient’s Top 35 under 35 in the Channel Islands and United Kingdom.

Furthermore, she has gained full TEP status, having completed her advanced STEP diploma in International Trust Management with distinction. An achiever of note, she finished first in Guernsey in 3 out of 4 of the STEP modules, ranking first in the world for one module and was also declared overall diploma winner in Guernsey.

Standard Bank provides international fiduciary services from Jersey and Mauritius, combining the strength and depth of Africa’s largest bank by assets with the flexibility of a boutique trust company. It administers a variety of assets, from private company shares and large property portfolios to luxury assets and complex investment portfolios, through structures such as discretionary trusts, reserved powers trusts, foundations, and private trust companies. With the group’s presence in 19 countries across Africa and domestic trust companies in South Africa, Namibia, and Nigeria, Standard Bank has been operating for over 160 years and providing fiduciary services for over 100 years.

“We are delighted to have Nitrisha join our team,” says Jonathan Sprigg, Head of Fiduciary Services at Standard Bank. “With her extensive experience and expertise in both South Africa and the Channel Islands, we are confident that she will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to our clients and driving the growth of our business.”
