Standard Bank appoints Jaco Van Jaarsveld, as Head of Fiduciary Services in Mauritius

Bringing a wealth of experience to his new position, Jaco will lead the Mauritius team with a focus on delivering excellent client service, growing the business, and spearheading the corporate fiduciary strategy.

Before joining Standard Bank, Jaco was the Head of Business Solutions and Executive Director of an independent trust and fiduciary business in Mauritius with a global footprint spanning Switzerland, Dubai, South Africa, and the British Virgin Islands. Jaco’s previous experience as the Managing Director of the Mauritian-based subsidiary of a listed multi-national trust group, highlights his extensive experience in managing diverse trust and corporate structures, particularly within the African landscape.

Jaco is a qualified South African Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary with a Law Degree, Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning, and a Master’s Degree in Tax Law. Previously, as a practicing attorney, he specialised in wealth and estate planning, efficient tax structuring, and acted as trustee on multiple trusts. He is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has served on the committee of the South Africa, Johannesburg STEP branch.
