Nitrisha Award 2024
Award wins 26 Mar 2024

Nitrisha Doorasamy wins silver in the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards

Standard Bank is proud to announce that Nitrisha Doorasamy, a key member of our Offshore Fiduciary Services team, has been honoured with the silver award in the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2024. The award in the ‘Woman of the Year – Career Initiative’ category was announced on 6 March 2024, affirming Nitrisha's position as an influential figure in the wealth management sector.

This distinction recognises her exceptional ability to uncover opportunities, demonstrate resourcefulness, and strategically advance in her career. Her accomplishment in the ‘Woman of the Year – Career Initiative’ category echoes her extraordinary skill set and commitment to the field of fiduciary services.

"Receiving the silver award in this category is a great honour,” she says. “It not only marks a personal milestone but also mirrors the nurturing and empowering environment at Standard Bank, which is dedicated to the advancement of women in the wealth sector."

Nitrisha, whose professional background includes qualifications as a South African attorney and a STEP Trusts and Estates Practitioner, has played a pivotal role in the expansion of our trust business in South Africa. Her career is marked by several accolades, such as inclusion in Legal500 UK and eprivateclient's Top 35 under 35 for the Channel Islands and the UK. Her expertise was further recognised with the STEP Excellence Award in 2023.

Apart from her professional achievements, Nitrisha is committed to social change through her work with the Sayuri Padayachee Charitable Foundation in South Africa. She has also been instrumental in founding the International Ladies in Trusts Association in the Channel Islands, fostering a supportive community for women in the trust industry.

Jonathan Sprigg, Head of International Fiduciary Services at Standard Bank, commented: "Her consistent success and inspiring attitude affirm her as a true Powerwoman. We are immensely proud of her silver win at the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards."

Standard Bank’s recognition at the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards extends beyond 2024. In 2023, Beatrice Fok Chow and Mokshda Beeharry, both based in our Mauritius office, achieved commendable success in the same awards. Beatrice was awarded bronze in the Managing Director sub-category of the Woman of the Year Leaders in a Financial Organisation category, while Mokshda won silver in the Director sub-category.

These achievements highlight Standard Bank's continuous commitment to promoting excellence and leadership among women in the finance sector.

Our dedication to nurturing talent and championing diversity in the wealth management industry is reflected in these accolades. We celebrate these milestones as part of our commitment to being at the forefront of the fiduciary services sector.
